Our most important production unit, Ecosac is located close by the city of Piura, at only 8km away, and with the most important port in the north of Peru, Paita, being only at a distance of 70 km. Its total area is of 6,000 Ha, of which currently only 2,350 Ha are in production. Water is take from the Piura River though our own water channel which initially distributes the resource in the shrimp farm. Part of these water is then returned to the river, and another is used for the agricultural farmlands, being used twice in the system. Besides the shrimp production, In this land we farm piquillo and bell peppers, paprika, quinoa, and fresh produce such as grape and avocado. We have also a section destined for reaserch and development, were we have various crops in test phase.
Located in Jayanca, north of Chiclayo, with a potential farming area of 400 Ha, these farmland is used today for the production of fruits, such as table grape and mango, and by the end of 2014 it will have it’s own packing house. The closest port is Paita, located 3 hours away, north.
In Tumbes we have a 80 Ha shrimp farm that has been in continues operation since the 80s. With a semi-intensive shrimp production, it complements Ecosac’s production.
